Switched Mode
Control

The Switched Mode
Controllers offered by Corrosion
Electronics operate from a DC voltage source that
can range from 10-30VDC. However, because our DC-DC
converters are of a step down nature the output
voltage cannot exceed the input
voltage.
The controllers
themselves are capable of output voltages of up to 25 VDC
and output currents of up to 10 ADC. The high efficiency
offered by switch-mode control makes it a perfect choice
for systems driven from
batteries.

To the left
you will find an illustration of
wha
t our typical front panel
arrangement looks like.
The typical switched mode
controller features 3 switch selectable modes of
control:
 |
Voltage Control |
 |
Current Control |
 |
Auto
Control (Potential
control) |
Adjusting the output can be acheived by
turning a multiturn lockable counting dial until desired set
point is
reached.
Switched mode controllers are available as
one of two basic types, common positive or common negative. The
common positive controller is suited to pipeline CP where a
common anode bed may be shared by more than one controller
operating from a shared DC source. The common negative
controller is suited to applications where the structure is
common to multiple controllers operating from a shared DC
source.
